As nice as the new ceramic non date sub is, it does lack of few of the quintessential elements that make it a true non date. Chief among which is it’s beautiful beveled lugs and of course, lug holes. Ever since we saw Sean Connery sport one on the set of Dr.No back in 1962 myself along with many fell in love with the non date instantly. The current ceramic version looses that charm that the older one had. It feels very sterile and clinically perfect and does lack that emotion that the older beveled case watch had. True non date devotees will tell you that the older incarnation of the watch is the right watch to have and collect. The one we have here is the last ever produced non date before the ceramic was introduced. Its a G series which puts it at a production date of 2010, before Rolex introduced the scrambled serial number system a year later. So it s also the last of the letter series watches. The one here is bite the back of your hand gorgeous. It has perfect beveled lugs and is in new old stock condition. You wont find another like it in this, just take a look at the pics, it s amazing!.
