The Portuguese chrono from IWC has certainly cermented itself in the world of classic chronographs as a benchmark. It's been arround for quite some time and has two really strong selling points. Unlike current in house movement offereings from the manufacturer, the Portuguese has a highly modified valjoux 7750 automaitc movement. Before you stick you nose up at this fact, consider that it will be forever servicable by any independent watchmaker for next to nothing as spare parts are abundent, but you won't need to do that often as it's as reliable as a woodburning stove.!
